P!nk has revealed that she almost died of a drug overdose when she was 16, just weeks ahead of signing her first record deal with the now-defunct LaFace Records.
In an interview with 60 Minutes today, she said that she wasn't just doing drugs at the time, but dealing them as well: "I got into drugs, I was selling drugs, and then I was kicked out the house. I dropped out of high school. I was off the rails," she recalled. "Thanksgiving of 1995, I was at a rave and I overdosed. I was on ecstasy, angel dust, crystal, all kinds of things. And then I was out, done, too much."
P!nk went on to confirm that she could've died in the incident, and stopped using drugs cold turkey afterwards.
Nearly three decades later, the pop mega-star is headlining one of the most exciting tours in the world, garnering global attention at nearly every show due to her theatrics, fans' unplanned births, thrown ashes, anti-circumcision protests, Alanis Morissette cameos and more.
If you want to catch some of the excitement, don't worry — she still has stops planned in Vancouver and Montreal on the tour following delays resulting from her battle with a respiratory infection.
