Just yesterday (January 28), Ozzy Osbourne called off the first four dates on his European tour with Judas Priest. Now things have gone from bad to worse, as the Black Sabbath singer has postponed the entire trek due to illness.
According to Ozzy's team, he's battling a severe upper respiratory infection, and as such, he's now too ill to continue with his touring commitments.
In a statement, Osbourne's publicist wrote, "Ozzy Osbourne has been forced to postpone the entire U.K. and European leg of his 'No More Tours 2′ tour on doctors' orders. This follows yesterday's announcement that Osbourne was postponing the first four dates of the tour because of the flu. After seeing his physician again, Osbourne has been diagnosed with a severe upper-respiratory infection which the doctor feels could develop into pneumonia given the physicality of the live performances and an extensive travel schedule throughout Europe in harsh winter conditions."
In Ozzy's own statement, he added:
I'm completely devastated for having to postpone the European leg of my tour. It just seems that since October everything I touch has turned to s–t. First the staph infection in my thumb and now coming down with the flu and bronchitis. I want to apologize to all of my fans who have been so loyal over the years, my band, my crew and to Judas Priest for letting you all down. However, I promise the tour with Judas Priest will be completed. It's being rescheduled right now to start in September. Again, I apologize to everyone. God Bless. Love you all, Ozzy.
While Ozzy was set to join Judas Priest tomorrow (January 30) in Dublin, he will be trying to making up the European trek in September. As previously reported, Osbourne is scheduled to return to North America in the spring.
You can see all the affected dates, as well as his full schedule as it currently stands, below.
Last fall, Osbourne cancelled a portion of his North American farewell tour due to "multiple infections." He later revealed that he had three staph infections in his right thumb, causing it to swell to "the size of a fuckin' lightbulb."
