Origin

Origin

The cover art looks relaxing and I was half expecting an experimental noise album, but much to my surprise, this is some serious death metal. Very intense and very technical, this reminds me a bit of Suffocation, but Origin still have their own sound, which is rare in the death metal world today. The drummer (who used to play in Angel Corpse) is amazing, flying all over the place with weird little fills and powerful blast beats, and the rest of the band are in the same league as bands like Nile, Morbid Angel and Cryptopsy. Origin also keeps things short, so when it's over you're left wanting more. If they don't break up, they will soon become a household name amongst death metallers world-wide.
