Following last year's announcement that the Ontario Music Fund (OMF) would continue permanently in the province, the program has announced its annual list of recipients, with the fund awarding 155 grants to 151 recipients for a total of $14 million in funding.
Today (April 20), Premier Kathleen Wynne made the announcement at the Rivoli in Toronto, and you can see the complete list of recipients and how much funding each received below.
As explained in a press release, "The OMF provides grants to music businesses that produce, distribute and promote Ontario-based music and artists. This support spans all segments of Ontario's music industry and helps the sector to innovate, create jobs and increase the production and performance of music across the province."
The OMF is administrated by the Ontario Music Office, benefiting a wide range of music industry workers such as labels, publishers, managers, entrepreneurs, promoters, booking agents and more.
The OMF is part of the Ontario government's plan to ultimately help grow the economy in the province and create jobs. The press release also points out that "the plan is making the largest investment in public infrastructure in Ontario's history," as well as "helping working Ontarians achieve a more secure retirement."

Earlier this year, it was announced that British Columbia would be investing $15 million in the newly launched BC Music Fund.
