Oneida Unveil Part Two In Their "Colossal Vision Of A New Age" - A Mammoth Triple Album

BY Brock ThiessenPublished May 12, 2009

Oneida have given word that the second part of their Thank Your Parents trilogy is in the bag and heading our way this summer.

As promised, the adventurous Brooklynites have turned this next instalment in their "colossal vision of a new age" into a monstrous triple-album package, which will be called Rated O and released July 7 on Brah/Jagjaguwar as a three-CD or triple-vinyl deal. Unlike its all-instrumental predecessor, Preteen Weaponry, this one is set to feature some vocals, and sound-wise the guys say, "shit is insane."

A few live dates have already been announced in support of the record but it doesn't look like Oneida will be making the trip north of the border. However, the band say they recently remixed the track "Trans Canada" by the Constantines, though we're unsure at this point where that remix might end up.

Along with the third and final piece in the Thank Your Parents trilogy still in the pipeline, Oneida have also given the heads-up that they have made some recordings of two "Practice Space" shows and will be doing something with those in the future.

For now, here is a yet-to-be-confirmed tracklisting for Rated O, as well as those tour dates:
