A two-year period of uncertainty helped inform Okkervil River main man Will Sheff's latest collection, Away. Following an early tease of the record's "Okkervil River R.I.P.," the folk-rock project have now unearthed a kinda-grim music video for the piece.
The music video was directed by Sheff, and first finds a pastor (played by character actor Tim Blake Nelson) going through his morning routine before leading a funeral service. Inside the casket is Sheff, who miraculously manages to say a few words himself. Also on hand are the rest of Okkervil River, who tribute their fallen leader with a musical performance.
"Eventually, I realized I was kind of writing a death story for a part of my life that had, buried inside of it, a path I could follow that might let me go somewhere new," Sheff had previously explained of the making of Away.
You'll find the video below, while Away hits retailers September 9 through ATO.
