Glass Candy's otherworldly singer, the enigmatically named Ida No, came wafting onto the Wrongbar stage in a cloud of her own slowly waving arms, and then brought them gracefully down beside her. Then, in almost perfect unison, the band's songwriter/producer Johnny Jewel dropped the first beat, and the crowd began writhing and bouncing in joyful unison. For the duo's full set, No's crisp, European drawl entranced the audience, while an onslaught of flickering strobe lights turned what should merely have been a concert performance into a surreal, slow-motion dream in which everybody dances and everybody gets along. Nobody could've asked for better.
