NXNE - The Bitters

From the moment they took the Silver Dollar Room stage, the Bitters put on a blistering, full-throttle performance of their thrashy punk rock tunes. The band, which consist primarily of vocalist Aerin Fogel and Fucked Up guitarist Ben Cook, fed the crowd a non-stop diet of infectious energy from a seemingly unending supply. The crowd, unfortunately, seemed petulantly unwilling to eat: the foot-tapping here and some head-nodding there were far short of what the band's vigorous performance warranted. Not to be discouraged, the Bitters raged on, even after a pair of idiotic fans at centre stage starting throwing bits of paper at Fogel. If only the crowd were as committed.
