New Found Glory have settled nicely into a comfortable spot over the past couple of albums, and there comes a time when even those of us who wore out our old Drive-Thru releases are okay with it. Because what do we really expect from NFG in 2011 anyway? Pretty much the same thing we've gotten all along: lively hooks and crisp songs in a taut pop-punk package, produced this time by frequent collaborator Neal Avron. And that's just what we get on seventh studio album Radiosurgery. "Caught in the Act" leans heavily on the pop side of things, pristinely at that, featuring a suitable guest spot from Best Coast's Bethany Cosentino. The title track is the biggest disappointment of the bunch, but "I'm Not the One" is classic "let's go!" NFG and "Dumped" and "Memories and Battle Scars" even manage to inject a little bit of classic Green Day bounce into the mix.
