New Balance Designs Joy Division Sneakers

First J Mascis got his own pair of Nike SBs, and now New Balance has introduced the Joy Division Trainer. While it's doubtful anyone would have caught Ian Curtis wearing such footwear, the sneaker giant has hired American artist Dylan Adair to design a shoe in honour of the timeless post-punk band. What makes these kicks so cool? Well there are ripples on the sole, like the ones featured on the sleeve of the band's seminal debut, Unknown Pleasures. They're also embossed with "FACT 10" - the album's catalogue number on Factory Records.
