Rapidly becoming one of Torontos most acclaimed acts, Nadja have re-recorded and somewhat tweaked their 2005 independent effort for a reissue via Profound Lore. Originally limited to a mere 60 CD-R copies, Bliss Torn From Emptiness fully merits the re-release, as it is some of the groups strongest material. The effort is essentially one hour-long track, which continues in the groups sweltering ambient/doom tradition. Layered melodies and guitars thick as molasses are supported by a minimal drum machine presence, with epic peaks and unsettling, hypnotic lows. This releases is an excellent companion piece to last years Touched reissue and stands as one of the stronger offerings in a dense, rewarding discography.
