This is a perfect album to put on for a little rest. Hailing from Louisville, Kentucky, and led by 21-year-old Jim James, My Morning Jacket is more accessible than Will Oldham, more youthful than Richard Buckner, with earthy production well above lo-fi, but the opposite of over produced. These guys can sing, but their beautiful harmonies are selectively placed, and the simple instrumentation ranges from folkie to rock-country. The double LP contains a seven-inch with four songs not on the CD.
