My Bloody Valentine’s Return

BY Cam LindsayPublished Feb 15, 2007

It’s a waiting game that’s plagued fans even longer than Chinese Democracy but according to Kevin Shields the band will return sooner than we think. Despite numerous hearsay and gossip over the last 15 years, Shields told Magnet that, "we are 100 percent going to make another My Bloody Valentine record unless we die or something.” Though he’s made appearances on the soundtracks to Lost in Translation and Marie Antoinette, Shields has remained undesirably stagnant since his band went into hibernation in 1992 after leaving Creation for Island Records. Shields admits the wait is "because I never could be bothered to make another record unless I was excited by it. And just by fate or whatever, that never happened.” As to when it will surface, he says, "How long will that take to transpire into an actual physical record? I don't know.”
