This week for the sixth instalment of MUTEK's Digitalis, we shine a spotlight on Vancouver electronic artist, Cameron Reed who performs under the moniker Babe Rainbow.
Since releasing his debut EP Shaved in 2010, his experimental beats have quickly become a mainstay of the Canadian West Coast music scene. For the past couple years Babe Rainbow has been producing a constant stream of dark post-dubstep freakouts. In this video he discusses the process behind his live show and his background in non-electronic genres such as "noise, free jazz and punk bands."
Babe Rainbow's Endless Path EP came out in 2011 on Warp Records.
Be sure to check out past editions of Digitalis including profiles of Norwegian producer, Lindstrøm, and a unique Montreal group, Women With Kitchen Appliances.
