Murder City Comes Alive

FESTIVAL

Tim Ford can’t be accused of underachieving. The Ford Plant booker and a like-minded collective have worked tirelessly to make the crumbling core of Brantford, Ontario an unlikely destination for touring indie-minded musicians. In so doing, Ford’s the architect of a subversive arts scene within a rotting cityscape. Nestled downtown, the Ford Plant is a taste making, all-ages venue year round, but from August 1 to 6, bands and music fans will cram into the small performance/art space for the fourth annual Murdered City Music Festival.
Ford’s jaw-dropping line-up includes the Sadies, the Hidden Cameras, Holy Fuck, Matt Murphy, the Blow, Andre Ethier, Meligrove Band, Hylozoists, Jon-Rae and the River, Sourkeys, Ohbijou, Yacht, Ninja High School, the D’Urbervilles, and more. With day passes ranging from "0 to 15 dollars” and a BBQ, garage sale, and games planned (visit www.thefp.ca for updates), Murdered City might be the most accessible, eclectic indie rock festival in the land.
