Earlier this year, it was revealed that Canada's own MuchMusic would be the subject of a documentary by Sean Menard, and that its world premiere would be happening at SXSW. Now, 299 Queen Street West is coming to Toronto for its hometown premiere.
The film — which reportedly came together thanks to Menard's "unprecedented access to the MuchMusic archives" — will have its local debut on September 22 at Roy Thomson Hall. Tickets go on sale Wednesday, April 26, at 10 a.m. ET here.
As previously reported, the doc's cast comprises a roster of classic VJs, including Steve Anthony, Rick Campanelli, Monika Deol, Denise Donlon, Erica Ehm, Namugenyi Kiwanuka, Sook-Yin Lee, George Stroumboulopoulos, Bill Welychka and Michael Williams.
After its Toronto premiere, the film will tour 13 Canadian cities with VJs from the film, who will participate in "Intimate & Interactive" conversations following the screenings. Stay tuned for more info on that.
