It's Black Friday, and as shoppers hit the stores in search of bargains, Mr. Oizo has released a music video for his song "Ham" that offers a rather chilling look at consumer culture.
The clip was directed by Eric Wareheim (of Tim and Eric Awesome Show, Great Job!) and stars John C. Reilly. But while Wareheim and Reilly are best known for comedy, this clip is only funny in the blackest of senses. We see Reilly as a grotesque, gluttonous bargain hunter who chows down on food while riding his wheelchair to the store. Once he gets there, a race for the last stuffed animal turns into a violent standoff. The whole thing is soundtracked by Mr. Oizo's urgently thumping beats.
"Ham" comes from Mr. Oizo's album The Church, out now through Brainfeeder.
The video is an extract from Rubberhead, a film made up of comedy shorts hosted by Sarah Silverman.
