Mos Def Sued for Cancelling Toronto Show

Last year, we expressed some concern over a proposed DOOM/Mos Def concert at Toronto's Koolhaus. Our worry was that DOOM would send an impostor, as he is known to do, but the real issues came from Mos. First, the show was postponed by a month due to his busy schedule. Then, as you can read in our review, he didn't bother showing up. According to promoters REMG Entertainment, Mos's disappearance caused major financial losses and the company is now suing the rapper.

TMZ has obtained the details of a lawsuit and REMG is allegedly suing Mos for at least $57,500. Mos was paid a $12,500 deposit that he never returned despite cancelling. On top of that, REMG is claiming another loss of $45,000 for "lost customers, sales and goodwill."

Mos Def has not commented on the situation as of press time. Stay tuned for more details as they emerge.
