Morrissey Announces First Canadian Shows in More Than 15 Years

BY Exclaim! StaffPublished Feb 19, 2019

Morrissey hasn't stepped foot on Canadian soil since launching protests against the country's seal-clubbing policies more than a decade ago, but that's about to change. At long last, he has announced a Canadian tour.

The trek will kick off in mid-April and consist of eight concerts. Canadian cities included on the tour include Vancouver, Calgary, Edmonton, Saskatoon, Winnipeg, Montreal and Toronto (where he will play two shows).

UPDATE (2/22, 3 p.m. EST): Moz has added a second Vancouver show. He'll now play the Orpheum Theatre on April 14, as well.

Tickets go on sale Friday (February 22) at 10 a.m. local time. See the list of upcoming shows below.

Last fall, the former Smiths frontman hinted that he would return to Canada, pledging to make donations to animal-saving charities in each of the cities he plays — including Toronto Pig Save, Ottawa Animal Save, St John's Chicken Save and Vancouver Chicken Save, as well as PETA and Direct Action Everywhere.
