Montreal's Taverne Tour Gets Of Montreal, the Sadies, Backxwash for 2023 Edition

The preliminary lineup also includes Choses Sauvages, Adam Green, Sophia Bel, Yoo Doo Right and many more

Montreal's annual Taverne Tour festival has unveiled the preliminary lineup for its 2023 edition.

Running from February 9 through 11, the festival will welcome listeners back to the many bars and music venues of Avenue du Mont-Royal, Boulevard St-Laurent and Rue St-Denis for the first time since 2020, following last year's virtual edition.

Taverne Tour's 2023 programming spans myriad genres, with Of Montreal, the King Khan & BBQ Show, Adam Green, Lydia Lunch RetrovirusChoses Sauvages, the Sadies and Backxwash atop the bill. Sophia Bel, Odonis Odonis, Julie Doiron & Dany Placard, Le Ren, Dreamcrusher, Laura Niquay, Hua Li, Nicholas Craven, Jodie Jodie Roger, Boyhood, Alicia Clara,Nora Kelly Band, Ellemetue, Radiant Baby, Kaya Hoax, Blesse, Debate Club, DEAR-GOD, DoFlame, Laura Krieg, TRUCK, the Crooks and more will also perform.

Venues participating in Taverne Tour's 2023 edition include festival HQ le Ministère, le Verre Bouteille, le Pontiac, Taverne Saint-Sacrement, Casa Del Popolo, Quai de Brumes, La Sala Rossa and La Tulipe.

On the festival's opening evening, Exclaim! presents a bill blending "postmodernism, innovation and a whole lot of decibels," featuring Toronto noise rockers Gloin who delivered debut album We Found This in October. They'll be joined by Thisquietarmy x Away — an experimental collaboration between drone artist Eric Quach and Voivod leader Michel "Away" Langevin — and Montreal mainstays Yoo Doo Right.
