Montreal's Rêve Announces Debut Album 'Saturn Return'

The news comes alongside new single "Contemporary Love"

Already Platinum-certified, Montreal dance-pop maven Rêve has definitely made her mark — all before the release of her forthcoming debut album. Today, she previews the LP with new single "Contemporary Love."

Produced by Mike Wise, Saturn Return arrives October 20 via Astralwerks. It includes previously released tracks "Big Boom," "Hypersexual," "Tongue," "Whitney" and 2023 JUNO Awards Dance Recording of the Year winner, "CTRL + ALT + DEL."

The record emerged out of hundreds of compositions Rêve penned over the years, from early pandemic moments to early studio sessions. A love letter to different dance-pop subgenres, Saturn Return captures the theme of the astrological transit that tends to happen in a person's late twenties — when Saturn returns to the same ecliptic longitude as when they were born.

"'Contemporary Love' is a tip of the hat to my great love of disco," the artist said of the new single in a press release. "It explores the struggle of being a hopeless romantic in the modern dating world which at times can feel pretty transactional and cold."
