Mitski is on the cusp of releasing her latest LP Be the Cowboy, but before the album arrives, she's teased one more track. "Two Slow Dancers" is the third single to be released from the album, and it arrives complete with an accompanying lyric video.
Speaking to Exclaim!, Mitski explained that the song is about two older people with a history, but who now have their own separate lives. They re-encounter each at a class reunion, and realize, "We still have a connection, but we already have our lives and there's nothing we can do, but let's just have this dance together to feel nostalgic before we have to go back to our lives."
It serves as the closing track on Be the Cowboy and follows the release of "Geyser" and "Nobody."

Be the Cowboy is due out on August 17 via Dead Oceans, and you can find Mitski's upcoming tour dates here.
