Missy Elliott and Timbaland to Issue New Solo Albums in June

It's been a long time since either Missy Elliott or producer pal Timbaland served up solo sets, but both artists are apparently lining up albums to be released sometime this June.

A new interview with MTV News finds Timbo dropping some hints at just when we can expect either LP.

"Me and Missy are both coming with our albums at the same time, and it will be in June," Timbaland told MTV, adding that both stars are working on music videos for their respective first singles.

The pair had previously promised new material last March when they were working on Elliott's follow-up to 2005's The Cookbook. Timbaland has yet to issue a full-length since his 2009 outing Shock Value 2.

The rationale behind launching both discs at the same time suggests the once chart-dominating pair want to present a unified front.

"We want to do it as a movement and spontaneously," the producer said, adding, "I just don't want to move too ahead of her and she don't want to move too ahead of me."
