Critically adored R&B singer Miguel was arrested in Los Angeles this morning (August 15) for drunk driving.
Law enforcement sources told TMZ that Miguel (a.k.a. Miguel Jontel Pimentel) was flagged down by the California Highway Patrol around 2:15 a.m. local time after he was caught speeding on a Los Angeles highway. Reportedly, the officers noticed that Miguel "reeked of booze" and had the artist perform various sobriety tests, which he is said to have failed.
It's also alleged that the singer blew both a .10 and .11 percent blood alcohol level during a breathalyzer test, meaning he clocked in over the .08 legal limit in California.
After being arrested for drunk driving, Miguel was booked at a local police station, but was released a few hours later on $5,000 bail. He's expected to appear in court in September.
Miguel is expected to take off later in September for a North American tour with Drake and Future.
