At last night's Grammys, Mick Fleetwood took the stage in tribute to his late Fleetwood Mac bandmate Christine McVie, performing her timeless ballad "Songbird" alongside Sheryl Crow and Bonnie Raitt

On the red carpet, Fleetwood also took a moment to discuss the future (or lack thereof) of Fleetwood Mac, telling The Los Angeles Times that a reunion is "sort of unthinkable right now" following the loss of McVie.

"I think right now, I truly think the line in the sand has been drawn with the loss of Chris," he said. "I'd say we're done, but then we've all said that before. It's sort of unthinkable right now."

Fleetwood had hinted at possibly reuniting the band as recently as 2021, but losing McVie — long considered the grounding, reasonable heart of the band, let alone their top hitmaker — is an understandable reason to put that idea on the back burner.

However, Fleetwood said he isn't out of the game, noting that he plans to follow suit with Fleetwood Mac bandmates Stevie Nicks, Mike Campbell and Neil Finn — plus former member Lindsey Buckingham — and continue performing and creating music as an individual. "They all get out and play, so I'm gonna be doing the same thing, finding people to play with," he said.
