Yesterday (December 17), David Bowie dropped a brand new single with the arrival of the smooth, dark and jazzy "Lazarus." The track appears on Bowie's upcoming album ★ (pronounced Blackstar) and also serves as the title song in the musician's stage adaptation of The Man Who Fell to Earth.
The show was co-written by Bowie and directed by Ivo van Hove, and stars acclaimed Dexter actor Michael C. Hall. To celebrate the show's run and the release of the new single, Hall appeared on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert last night to perform "Lazarus."
Claiming to be Bowie's latest public persona, the actor was joined by a stage full of other performers as he delivered the track — and pretty stellar Bowie impression, to be honest. Hall's not the only one impersonating Bowie these days, though, as a UK professor revealed an attempt to channel the rock icon as part of a research project earlier this year.
