The Meligrove Band have been making music together for over 15 years. The secret to the group's longstanding success comes from working on music at their own pace and drawing inspiration from all sorts of different avenues that make up rock music.
We invited the quartet to the Exclaim! office to play an acoustic rendition of "Don't Wanna Say Goodbye," taken from their latest studio record, Bones of Things, which was released last month.
The band lock into a lively groove after a quick couple of strums from Jason Nunes, whose vocals are soon bolstered by those of guitarist Brian O'Reilly and percussionist Darcy Rego, who is also keeping himself busy with both a shaker and a snare drum. Not ones to remain overly formulaic, the band throw in a quick a capella break to put their vocal harmonies on display, opting to add a third interval in and sweetly closing the performance.
Watch the group's acoustic rendition in the player below, and if you're in Toronto catch the band live at the Drake Hotel's What's in the Box concert series on December 27.
