Meek Mill

"Intro"

BY Gregory AdamsPublished Oct 22, 2012

We're just over a week away from the October 30 release of Meek Mill's Dreams and Nightmares LP, but the Maybach Music Group signee is letting us know a little early how he kicks off the record via a stream of fittingly titled opener "Intro."

The song starts off sweetly, with Mill spitting softly atop a bed of airy piano plinks and softcore string swells about marrying the rap game and noting he nabbed a choice Mariah Carey collab before issuing a proper album. Mid-piece, however, the track ups the intensity, as the eighty-eights sample gets manipulated atop a sinister snap and Mill raises his voice into a scratchy shout.
