Some might say that Taylor Swift makes the world go 'round. At the very least, she'll stop the clocks with the release of her new album Midnights in a couple weeks — and recent Exclaim! cover star Maya Hawke claims the pop star has even more power over her physiology.

For The Line of Best Fit's new "Nine Songs" feature, the Stranger Things actor (and singer-songwriter in her own right, fresh off the release of sophomore album MOSS and contributing to a star-studded abortion rights compilation) told her life story in song by making a nine-track playlist of important musical touchstones.

Among picks from Wilco, Fiona Apple, Bright Eyes and Arctic Monkeys, Hawke selected "Ours" from Swift's entirely self-penned 2010 album Speak Now, which she says reminds her of middle school and high school — and likens the effect of listening to the artist, to whom she has a "tremendous emotional attachment," to literal anxiety medication.

"I would love to have a doctor put electrodes on me and see what happens to my blood pressure when I listen to Taylor Swift – because I think it seriously drops, it's like a Xanax, it's so calming to me," Hawke offered. "Her music immediately brings me home and makes me feel happy and safe. I have this sentimental attachment to her, not only because she made me feel safe and seen as a kid, but because she also made me feel safe as an adult."

She went on to recount introducing her father to "Ours" and him eventually taking her to the Speak Now Tour. And it wasn't a passing phase, either: Hawke said, "I got a text from him when Taylor announced Midnights and he was like, 'Oh my god, Taylor Swift already has a new record coming out? I'm so excited!'"

Us too, Ethan Hawke. Us too.

Swift just shared the full Midnights tracklist, which includes a duet with Lana Del Rey.
