Martha Wainwright might seem like a sweet and lovely folk singer, but Rufus’s younger sister is busting out of whatever stereotypes people throw her way. Taken from an EP of the same title (released on UK webzine Drowned In Sound’s record label), "Bloody Mother Fucking Asshole" is Wainwright strumming a simple acoustic guitar while she belts out an in-your-face fuck you that makes anger sound sublime. Though the title’s potty-mouthed refrain may seem extreme for the style of her music, she manages to convert the cuss words into something of beauty that in a perfect world would be played all over the radio.
