Three out of four bands playing Incline/Decline's Loft party tended toward the cold and detached, so that made Randy Gagne's "existential disco party" finale all the more effective. Busting high kicks and dancing on a wooden support pole while dictating into his microphone gloves about material that bridged topics like imaginary allergies, double-dipping and lawyers microwaving mutton on lunch break, Man Made Hill's face-painted, wild-eyed, wacky wiles were just the programming to warm the crowd up for a night involving three more venues.

It eventually started leaking mojo when Gagne started asking if he was still on after every song past his set's 20-minute mark, and that hurt the WTF factor that makes Man Made Hill so enjoyable, but he kept the energy high and left everyone with a big stupid grin.
