Montebello Rockfest is currently underway in Montebello, QC, but the event is already shrouded in tragedy as a man has died of a suspected overdose.
While details are scarce, CBC reports that ambulances arrived at the fest's campground after a man had a cardiac arrest around 8 a.m. local time this morning (June 15).
Upon being transported to the hospital, the man was pronounced dead. He was 25 years old. Paramedics said his death could be drug related.
He was one of nine people hospitalized from this year's edition of the festival. Two others overdosed on drugs, with one of them requiring the opioid-reversing naloxone.
Last year, a 62-year-old man died of a heart attack at the festival.
Montebello Rockfest runs until Saturday (June 16). This year marks the 13th edition of the long-running fest.
