After catching our attention with one of the Best Livestreams of 2020, French keyboardist DOMi and American drummer JD Beck have shared new single "SMiLE" alongside a video featuring some familiar faces.

In the clip directed by Anderson .Paak, DOMi and Beck are mentees of jazz musician McBriare Lanyon, played by none other than Mac DeMarco. The Canadian's character is described as a "bitter old man" who lost his hearing a decade ago, leaving him unable to enjoy "the music that defined his life."

The duo's colourful instrumental soundtracks their attempt to calm Lanyon's mood by throwing him a surprise party, hosting guests including .Paak and Thundercat. Watch the clip below, and you'll find DOMi and Beck have just the gift to brighten their mentor's spirits.

DOMi and JD Beck will release their long-awaited debut album via .Paak's new label APESHIT, in partnership with storied jazz label Blue Note Records. While release details have yet to surface, the LP is said to be "an attempt to bottle their goofy, very virtuosic magic."

Previously, the duo co-wrote "Skate" from Paak's Grammy-winning album with Bruno Mars as Silk Sonic.
