Lykke Li Returns with New Single

BY Gregory AdamsPublished Oct 13, 2010

If you were hoping for some new Lykke Li material to help get you through the fall, your prayers have just been answered. While it's been quite some time since we reported that Li was plotting the follow-up to 2008's fantastic Youth Novels, the singer has finally come through with the announcement that new songs are on the way.

According to a press release, a new two-song single is now set for release, featuring title track "Get Some" and B-side "Paris Blue." "Get Some" will be showcased on her as-of-yet untitled second long player, which the release says is "due out early next year," but "Paris Blue" looks like it's exclusive to the single. Both tracks were produced by longtime collaborator Björn Yttling, of Peter Bjorn & John fame.

While the curt collection will be available as a limited edition seven-inch single in the UK, the rest of us can take solace in the fact that the two cuts will be up for grabs on Li's website starting October 25, the same day the physical release hits the shops. The best part? The two tracks will be entirely free to download.

Now if we could only get a release date on that album...
