Lorde Dabbles in 'Pure Heroine' on Debut Album

BY Alex HudsonPublished Aug 19, 2013

This weekend, Toronto "noir & B" star the Weeknd helped give fast-rising New Zealander Lorde a little promotional boost here in North America by remixing her song "Royals." This is just the beginning for the 16-year-old pop singer otherwise known as Ella Yelich-O'Connor, since her debut album, Pure Heroine, will drop in North America on October 1 through Universal.

The album includes "Royals" (which appeared on Lorde's prior EP The Love Club), plus the smoky, Lana Del Rey-flavoured single "Tennis Court." Watch videos for those songs below, where you'll also find the 10-song tracklist. This North American date follows reports last week that the album would drop internationally on September 30.

Lorde is coming through our continent this fall for a selection of tour dates. Her Toronto date had been scheduled to take place at the Hoxton, but following a speedy sellout, the show has been moved to the more specious Danforth Music Hall.
