Lollapalooza Finally Cancels Its 2020 Festival

BY Brock ThiessenPublished Jun 9, 2020

At long last, Lollapalooza 2020 has been cancelled. The decision was announced today by Chicago Mayor Lori E. Lightfoot and the Department of Cultural Affairs and Special Events, who finally revealed the festival will not take place this year due to COVID-19.

While the lineup was never announced for the festival, Lollapalooza was set to take place IRL this summer. Now, however, the fest will host "a weekend-long livestream event" from July 30 to August 2.

You can see the announcement from the festival below.

Of course, this announcement should come as no real surprise. After all, multiple experts have repeatedly said they do not expect live music to return until 2021 at the earliest.
