Every Time A Bell Rings An Angel Gets His Wings

BY Neil HavertyPublished Jan 1, 2006

Deep Elm has hit a wall on their emo crusade. As one of the many offenders in the dreaded mainstream consumption of the genre, the label is naturally trying to think up ways to break the mould they helped create. Sure, Logh do their best to rid themselves of the teenage whining and standard punk-pop progressions associated with the tag, but they most definitely fall short. Every Time A Bell Rings... often sounds forced and somewhat generic, failing to really crack new ground with its drawn out ballads and standard rock meanderings. They get points for pushing the conventions of the label they call home, but should probably be docked a few for trying too hard.
