This insanely cool three-inch CD re-release of the Locusts self-titled debut seven-inch features the Locusts original line-up (circa 1996) and two new bonus comp tracks. Digitally remastered, this now 11-song, seven-and-a-half-minute mini-CD shows the Locust in their formative, embryonic period: brief synth-driven grindcore assaults that verge from hyper to finding a brief groove and back, usually in under a minute, with shredded vocals and circular, jagged structures. In context, its not as weird or experimental as the Locust became in later years, but shows the beginnings of the twisted genius that was to follow while still being incredibly hostile, raucous and harsh.
