Japanese Breakfast has got the Simlish treatment. The Sims 4 just released a new ad, and it features the recent single "Be Sweet" sung in the game's signature gibberish.

The commercial is for the new expansion pack The Sims 4 Cottage Living. The trailer shows a countrified version of the game full of bunnies, llamas, pumpkin patches and rural homes — and the whole thing is soundtracked by a version of "Be Sweet" (from the recent album Jubilee) with incomprehensible lyrics.

From the sound of things, that's actually Japanese Breakfast's Michelle Zauner singing — and she responded to the ad by transcribing her nonsensical lyrics:

This certainly isn't the first time artists have turned their songs into Simlish — Carly Rae Jepsen and Hot Chip are just a couple of the artists who have gone gibberish for The Sims.

Listen to the full version of the Japanese Breakfast ad below. We recently spoke with Zauner about celebrating the struggles of her Korean-American upbringing.
