Listen to Japanese Breakfast Sing in Simlish
"Be Sweet" appears in the new ad for 'The Sims 4 Cottage Living'
Published Jun 10, 2021Japanese Breakfast has got the Simlish treatment. The Sims 4 just released a new ad, and it features the recent single "Be Sweet" sung in the game's signature gibberish.
The commercial is for the new expansion pack The Sims 4 Cottage Living. The trailer shows a countrified version of the game full of bunnies, llamas, pumpkin patches and rural homes — and the whole thing is soundtracked by a version of "Be Sweet" (from the recent album Jubilee) with incomprehensible lyrics.
From the sound of things, that's actually Japanese Breakfast's Michelle Zauner singing — and she responded to the ad by transcribing her nonsensical lyrics:
Ba shug da vlee nooboo! Ya wana baleesh da voo ya wana baleeeeeeeeesh~ 🐮 https://t.co/5kSzcQKCTw— Japanese Breakfast (@Jbrekkie) June 10, 2021
This certainly isn't the first time artists have turned their songs into Simlish — Carly Rae Jepsen and Hot Chip are just a couple of the artists who have gone gibberish for The Sims.
