Grimes has taken up residency at BBC Radio 1 for a new hour-long monthly show, and today, she has just shared her very first episode, a playlist of "experimental and sci-fi music" curated to be suitable for babies.

The show consists of a number of tracks hand-selected by the artist. Some highlights from the first episode of show are fellow Canadians Purity Ring with their new single "Stardew," as well as Caroline Polachek, Aphex Twin and the Postal Service.

Alongside her curated playlist, Grimes also shared one of her own recent singles, "So Heavy I Fell Through the Earth,"  from her latest record Miss Anthropocene, a track she calls "one of her favourite songs from the album."

Now that she's expecting, the artist's priorities have apparently shifted in favour of child-friendly content.

"I really think babies need more exposure to electronic and experimental music," she explains on the show, "and obviously that's the kind of music I make and the kind of music I love."
