Lissie Covers Metallica, Nick Cave, Lady Gaga on New EP

Illinois folkster Lissie hit it big last year when her debut LP Catching a Tiger made waves, garnering acclaim worldwide and being certified gold in the UK. The singer-songwriter is now hoping to keep the momentum going with her new EP, Covered Up with Flowers.

A press release from her label Fat Possum explains that the five-song mini-set finds the country-tinged songstress tipping her hat to some of her favourite artists. Fans of Lissie may have already heard her laid-back, down-home interpretations of Metallica's "Nothing Else Matters," Lady Gaga's "Bad Romance" and Kid Cudi's "Pursuit of Happiness," either in concert or via YouTube.

She keeps things fresh, however, with a pair of newly covered tunes, a "soulful, rootsy take on Joe South's "Games People Play" and a haunting version of Nick Cave's "The Ship Song."

Further described as "highlighting both her artistic versatility and the range of her extraordinary, sun-and-whiskey-soaked voice," Covered Up with Flowers comes out November 8.

Covered Up with Flowers:

1. "Pursuit of Happiness" (Kid Cudi cover)

2. "Bad Romance" (Lady Gaga cover)

3. "Games People Play" (Joe South cover)

4. "Nothing Else Matters" (Metallica cover)

5. "The Ship Song" (Nick Cave cover)
