Lightning Dust have shared a new single. The Vancouver duo of Black Mountain vocalist Amber Webber and former drummer Joshua Wells have released "Different War" as the latest preview of their upcoming album Nostalgia Killer

While the album's lead single was written as an ode to Vancouver, Webber and Wells get as personal as possible on "Different War," which tells the sordid tale of the former couple's lost love.

"I wrote this song knowing love had died despite our best efforts to revive it. It's a song about defeat, surrender and acceptance, comparing love to war," said Webber. "Josh ran with this feeling and created an atmosphere of plodding tension, slowly building to an epic orchestral crescendo, then giving way to a lonely spaciousness."

Lightning Dust will tour BC behind Nostalgia Killer after its arrival on June 9, with the first show coming June 21 on Galiano Island. Until then, get your fix of Lightning Dust by watching the "Different War" lyric video below, where you can also check out their full BC tour itinerary.
