Library Voices Robbed in Vancouver, Keep Touring

BY Brock ThiessenPublished Feb 23, 2009

It must have been quite the tough week for the ten guys and gals of Library Voices. After all, getting about $10,000 worth of gear stolen can't exactly be an easy pill to swallow.

The theft happened last Sunday (February 15) in downtown Vancouver, where the band emerged post-gig to find thieves had broken into the group's trailer and made off with all instruments inside. And while the gear has yet to be recovered, Library Voices have announced they will solider on, sticking to their scheduled Canadian dates in both the west and the east.

Thanks to some borrowed gear and a few rentals, the group will go ahead with all the stops on their March tour, which comes in support of their EP Hunting Ghosts & Other Collected Shorts. This means the shows in cities such as Calgary, Winnipeg and Regina will all still go down, as will the several scheduled in Ontario. In fact, Library Voices have even started working on some new recordings with their temporary new instruments and have been demoing some tracks for a forthcoming seven-inch. (No word, though, on when that might be released.)

So, as long as the band stay theft-free in the coming weeks, here are all their live dates:

3/5 Regina, SK - MacKenzie Art Gallery *
3/6 Calgary, AB - Palamino ^
3/7 Winnipeg, MB - Lo Pub #
3/8 Thunder Bay, ON - The Apollo
3/9 Sault St. Marie, ON - TBA
3/10 Sudbury, ON - The Garage
3/11 Guelph, ON - EBAR
3/14 Toronto, ON - El Macambo (CMW Showcase)
3/15 Windsor, ON - Phog Lounge
