LCD Soundsystem's Final Show to Get DVD Release

BY Alex HudsonPublished Apr 13, 2011

When James Murphy announced the end of LCD Soundsystem, we worried it was the last we would ever hear from the project. We needn't have been concerned – Hot on the heels of their new Franz Ferdinand cover, we've received word that we will be getting a live DVD from the celebrated group.

This will document the band's last-ever live show, which took place on April 2 at NYC's Madison Square Garden. The news came out when a fan on Facebook asked if LCD would be officially releasing the show on DVD. The band responded, "we will!!!!! we filmed it! much nicer than the stream!!! i need to mix the music and then they need to edit between all the cameras!"

The stream they're referring to aired live on Pitchfork. This later hit YouTube, but the video was removed.

The show was a three-and-half-hour marathon, containing 29 tracks spread across three separate sets (not including the encore). Arcade Fire joined the group for "North American Scum," while Reggie Watts, the Juan MacLean and Shit Robot appeared on different parts of "45:33."

See the entire set list right here.

There's no word as to when this DVD will be arriving in stores, but it looks as if another LCD Soundsystem release is on the way.

Thanks to Consequence of Sound for the tip.
