Lamb of God Teasing New Album via Mysterious Countdown Clocks?

BY Gregory AdamsPublished May 6, 2015

Lamb of God are certainly up to something, with a series of countdown clocks set up on a new band website arguably leading up to the announcement of a new album.

To back up a bit, the band have been using their Instagram account for the last couple of weeks to post a series of vague, recording studio-set shots of amps and instruments. These have all been hashtagged "#lambofgodVII." For those of you keeping score, the band's 2012 long-player Resolution was their sixth. It should be noted, though, that the thrash crew issued a self-titled album as Burn the Priest in 1999 before changing their name to Lamb of God.

Additionally, the metal unit have been unveiling a series of videos via cryptic clock countdowns on the newly launched www.lambofgodvii.com. The first video features an Indian fan from the group's As the Palaces Burn documentary explaining her metal-minded wardrobe. A second clip finds a young boy discussing bombings in Israel. Though it's still a little foggy what we can expect from the teasers, a third instalment is expected to be unveiled on Friday (May 8), with the last piece of the puzzle landing May 15 at 1 p.m. EDT.

In related news, vocalist Randy Blythe appears on metal supergroup Teenage Time Killers' debut album, which arrives July 31 through Rise Records. He also has served up a score for a recent ballet, and will have his Dark Days: My Tribulation and Trials autobiography out July 14 through Da Capo Press/
