While the recently released, career-spanning retrospective Best of Ladytron: 00-10 featured two new compositions from long-running electro act Ladytron, fans haven't been treated to a full-length from the troupe since 2008's Velocifero. A press release for the best-of did, however, mention that the group would likely be issuing their next record sometime later this year. Well, the band have made it official: the new Ladytron album comes out this fall.
Titled Gravity the Seducer, the new set comes out September 13 courtesy of Nettwerk. While a tracklisting has yet to be revealed, we do know that the album was recorded in the English countryside by the bands and co-producer Barny Barnicott. Not surprisingly, the band are excited about the new disc.
"Gravity the Seducer is more of a jump than the last album was, more ethereal and melodic, a touch more abstract in places than we've gone before, baroque 'n' roll," band member Daniel Hunt said in a press statement. "It was a pleasure to make, took us right through last summer. It's our best record, in my opinion."
Before the fall launch of their new tunes, the band will be touring in support of their best-of, while member Mira Aroyo will also be doing some DJ sets. Check out all the dates below.
