Kronos Quartet and Clint Mansell Team Up to Soundtrack Darren Aronofsky's 'Noah'

Moving past their recent Aheym collaboration with the National's Bryce Dessner, it's been revealed that esteemed string ensemble Kronos Quartet have re-teamed with composer Clint Mansell to score director Darren Aronofsky's Noah.

News of the upcoming collaboration was tweeted out earlier this week by Aronofsky, along with a photo of the string quartet sitting in a recording studio (see above). As the director noted, this is the first time Mansell has worked with the group since they delivered the score to Aronofsky's 2006 vehicle, The Fountain. Prior to that, they had prepped the music for the filmmaker's Requiem for a Dream in 2000.

Noah, meanwhile, stars Russell Crowe as the titular Bible figure tasked by God to build an ark ahead of an apocalyptic flood. Also starring in the film are Jennifer Connelly, Ray Winstone, Emma Watson, Anthony Hopkins and Logan Lerman.

You'll find the trailer for the film, which hits theatres March 28, down below.

It's as yet unknown if Mansell and Kronos Quartet's score for Noah will receive a soundtrack release.
