Little Monsters the world over are generally used to the glitzy electro pop of their idol, Lady Gaga, but fans may be dipping into the world of hip-hop now that the singer has announced she's teaming up with Compton rapper Kendrick Lamar.

Lady Gaga delivered news of the joint effort through her Twitter account today (August 15), writing, "I am so excited to announce that a record I've been working on has now become a collaboration with @KendrickLamar for HIS ALBUM."

It sounds as if the track incubated on her end before being brought to Lamar, and the news seemed to catch the spitter off guard, as he tweeted back, "This song. Sounds like your ready to rally in Compton with me. is this true?"

Gaga then added that the song is called "PARTYNAUSEOUS," and said it will drop September 6.

"Should i start talking about the inspiration for the record? and you go into detail the song means to you & hip hop? lyrics?" she asked the rapper, to which he replied, "Yup. Take the lead."

UPDATE: It looks as if the release has been delayed, as Gaga on August 23 tweeted, "Im REALLY sorry to the fans. record w Kendrick won't be out on the 6TH i'm SO SORRY its not my album, i don't control dates. but stay tuned!"

The pairing may not seem that out of left field, as both artists are signed to Interscope. A tracklisting has yet to drop for Lamar's good kid, m.A.A.d. city, but the album arrives October 2 through Aftermath/Interscope.
