Kanye West vs. George Bush vs. Matt Lauer: The Today Show Interview

BY Josiah HughesPublished Nov 11, 2010

The never-ending press junket that is Kanye West's life has taken a bizarre turn in the last week, as Kanye's claim that "George Bush doesn't care about black people" in the wake of Hurricane Katrina has cropped up, with both sides making comments to the press. Bush recently appeared on The Today Show with Matt Lauer, calling the comment the "most disgusting" part of his presidency, and now Kanye popped up on the show today (November 11) to respond to the situation.

In the interview, Lauer employed some manipulative interview techniques, getting Kanye to watch Bush's reaction to the story and Kanye's Taylor Swift interruption. The tactic pissed Ye right off, inspiring an insane Twitter rant, which he has since removed.

There's no question that Kanye overreacted, but the clip is worth watching for some amazing awkwardness and Lauer hopelessly defending himself to Meredith Vieira. The full segment can be streamed below.
