While Kanye West's Yeezy Season 3 event in New York today (February 11) showed off his The Life of Pablo album to the masses, the rapper also used his time at Madison Square Garden to welcome some new talent to the G.O.O.D. Music team. Brooklyn "Panda" rapper Desiigner is the label's latest signee.
Rumours had been circulating around the move for a bit, with Complex reporting that a tweet from Hot 97/Beats 1 DJ Ebro Darden congratulating Desiigner on the signing had gone up earlier this month before being taken down. Desiigner had also been seen travelling with Kanye, with a pic of the two at LAX leaving some to speculate on a professional relationship.
The news was made official today when Desiigner appeared onstage during Yeezy Season 3, with Kanye West confirming the G.O.O.D. Music acquisition on the mic. "New York City, your very own Desiigner straight from Brooklyn just signed to G.O.O.D. Music," West said.
The rising rapper would confirm this on his side over Instagram and by co-signing the following tweet.
